Tri-State Warbird Museum

Our June 2007 meeting, the speaker was Paul Redlich, President of the Tri-State Warbird Museum located near the Clermont County Airport.

Paul is one of only a handful of people worldwide that restore and pilot vintage WWII aircraft. Paul will compare and contrast the effort in restoring a vintage aircraft vs. a vintage Mustang. Paul recently returned from New Zealand where he is overseeing the restoration of a P40, the famed shark-nosed aircraft used by the Flying Tigers Squadron. See P40 above.
At the meeting Paul extended an invitation to the club to tour the Warbird Museum as a group for a very reasonable $7.00 per person. It is likely that the tour will include the opportunity to photograph your Mustang next to the museum’s P-51D mustang “Cincinnati Miss”.
Paul presented to the club the opportunity to participate with the Warbird squadron in an event called the “Gathering of Mustangs” taking place near Columbus Sept 27-30. At the June meeting, Paul described how he envisions the joint participation would take place. There is a possibility that Jack Roush’s P51 will attend this event.
